Research Data Management

at the Love Data Week 2025

Love Data Week takes place this year from 10 - 14 February under the motto ‘Whose Data Is It, Anyway?’

The topic of "research data management" (RDM) is present in many areas of scientific work. Nationally and internationally, initiatives such as the "European Open Science Cloud" (EOSC) or the "National Research Data Infrastructure" (NFDI) are providing important impetus. For a few years now, the "Love Data Week" has been drawing worldwide attention to current developments around research data and its management. An important part of this theme week is also the organization of information and training events.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is participating with an extensive program:

  • Monday, 10.02.2025, 15:15-16:15 CET: Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten – effiziente Recherche und strukturiertes Datenmanagement (in German only! Conducted by the University Library of LMU Munich; target group: students) Link to registration.
  • Tuesday, 11.02.2025, 14:00-14:45 CET: Open Data und das Portal open.bydata: Mit offenen Daten neue Erkenntnisse gewinnen (in German only! Conducted by open bydata competence center; target group: students, researchers, instructors, employees) Link to registration.
  • Wednesday, 12.02.2025, 13:00-13:30 CET: Research Data LMU – Ein Portal zu den FDM-Angeboten an der LMU München (in German only! Conducted by the University Library of LMU Munich; target group: students, researchers, instructors, employees) Link to registration.
  • Thursday, 13.02.2025, 14:00-15:00 CET: FAIR Data Management: A Workshop OER for Flexible Learning Environments (conducted by Max Planck Digital Library and the University Library of LMU Munich; target group: Data Stewards, researchers, instructors, employees) Link to registration.

Furthermore, this year the University Library of LMU Munich and the Competence and Data Center for the Digital Humanities (IT-Gruppe Geisteswissenschaften, ITG) for the first time will conduct a series of international lectures in cooperation with the University Library of the University of Liverpool (UOL) and the University Library of the University of Georgia, Athens (UAG).
