Step into the shoes of one of three researchers from different disciplines and accompany them on their journey through the twists and turns of their scholarly careers to explore the impact of publishing choices on visibility, access to research, and professional success in an interactive and fun way. No prior experience needed — just bring your curiosity!

How can I ensure that all my publications are found and correctly attributed to me? Google Scholar, Web of Science, ORCID, and other databases allow you to create author profiles that can be linked to publications and other information. Is this useful, and what do you need to bear in mind?

Wednesday, January 28 2026, 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm: Predatory publishing
There are considerable differences between various open access publishers in terms of quality and commitment to ethical publishing practices.
The aim of the session is to learn about criteria for determining the quality and reliability of a journal in order to avoid publishing in unreliable journals.

Thursday, January 29 2026, 9.30 am - 11.00 am: Information event for doctoral students on thesis submission
You will learn how to publish your dissertation with a publisher or electronically. Among other things, we will show you step by step how to upload your files to the “Electronic University Theses” repository.
