Group study rooms

Students or staff of LMU wishing to work in small groups or prepare papers or presentations together with others are welcome to use the group study rooms and areas available at many of the University Library's locations.

Group study rooms available for use without the need to book in advance can be found in the following Subject Libraries:

  • Fachbibliothek Englischer Garten
  • Fachbibliothek Geowissenschaften
  • Fachbibliothek Mathematik und Physik
  • Fachbibliothek Medizinische Lesehalle
  • Fachbibliothek Psychologie, Pädagogik und Soziologie
  • Fachbibliothek Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Statistik

A number of these group study rooms can be reserved in advance, allowing you to plan your collaborative sessions effectively All the bookable group study rooms are listed in the reservation system.

The following conditions apply to the use of the bookable group study rooms:

  • The maximum bookable period is four hours.
  • You may place up to three reservations per week.
  • If you do not check in, your reservation will be cancelled 15 minutes after the start of the reserved time-slot; please refer to the appropriate instructions in the reservation system.
  • Group study rooms can only be used by groups, not by individuals.
  • Reservations can only be made for members of LMU and are not transferable; rooms cannot be reserved for third parties.
  • Reservations for regularly scheduled events are not permitted.

Group study areas in the Leo 13 Learning Centre

In the Leo 13 Learning Centre (formerly the Zentrale Lehrbuchsammlung/Central Textbook Collection) there are nine tables designed for use by study groups of three, four or five individuals. Three of these tables can also be reserved through the system.
