E-books
Searching for e-books
The University Library offers scholars and students access to a wide range of electronic books (e-books). Use the online catalogue for your search. It contains the complete e-book holdings of the University Library.
You can set your search in the online catalogue to display only e-books. To do this, please select the document type “E-Book” under the tab “Limit search” before clicking on the search button. You can find the “Limit search” tab on the lower half of the catalogue’s starting page. Consequently, your search results will be limited to include only e-books.
Alternatively, you can use the filter “document type” to narrow your results after performing a search. To do this, go to "document type" in the column to the left of the results list and select the category "E-book".
You will find packages of e-books listed by subject content on the appropriate web pages under "Subject-specific searching".

Using e-books
- When you have found the book you require in the online catalogue, click on the blue full text button.
- The E-Media Login page will appear.
- Log in using your LMU user ID.
The e-books produced by academic publishers are usually in PDF format. Please note: Dedicated e-book readers are not usually optimised for the PDF format. For best results you should therefore read e-books using your PC, notebook or tablet.
Only LMU members (students and staff) may access the e-books purchased and licensed by the Library.
