Many publishers require publication fees for Open Access publications, so-called Article Processing Charges (APC), from the authors or their institutions.

The University Library of the LMU has concluded framework contracts or memberships with some publishers, through which a publication can be published at a reduced price.

Before submitting, be critical about the trustworthiness and integrity of a journal.
