Economics Databases | Bibliographical references and other subject information on the internet | Subject support from the University Library

To make sure your literature searching skills are up to scratch, please take a look at the general information on search techniques under the heading "How do I find ..." in the navigation bar of this web page.

You will find the following resources particularly helpful when conducting literature searches in the field of economics:

Economics databases available through the University Library

  • Business Source Complete (via EBSCOhost)
This database indexes mainly English-language economics subject literature such as articles from journals, e-books and conventional printed books. The main emphasis is on business management. Some full texts are directly accessible from within the database itself, others can be accessed using the SFX link resolver either to retrieve full texts or to locate their titles in the University Library's printed collections.
  • EconLit (via EBSCOhost)
This database indexes mainly English-language economics subject literature such as articles from journals, e-books and conventional printed books. The main emphasis is on national economics. Some full texts are directly accessible from within the database itself, others can be accessed using the SFX link resolver either to retrieve full texts or to locate their titles in the University Library's printed collections.
  • WISO
This database indexes economics literature mainly from the professional sector, with a small proportion of academic subject literature (a large number of professional journals, a much smaller number of academic journal articles, some book content, especially self-help titles). Some full texts are directly accessible from within the database, others can be accessed using the SFX link resolver either to retrieve full texts or to locate their titles in the University Library's printed collections.

You will find these and other databases relating to the field of economics in the Datenbank-Infosystem DBIS (Database Information System) under the subject heading "Wirtschaftswissenschaften" (Economics).

  • Academic search engine Google Scholar
