The Deutsches Arzneibuch consists of a general part (analytical methods, reagents, etc.) and a special part (monographs A-Z). - Europäisches Arzneibuch
Defines requirements for the qualitative and quantitative composition of medicines, the tests to be carried out on medicines and on substances and materials used in their production. It covers active substances, excipients and preparations of chemical, animal, human or herbal origin, homoeopathic preparations and homoeopathic stocks, antibiotics, as well as dosage forms and containers. It also includes texts on biologicals, blood and plasma derivatives, vaccines and radiopharmaceutical preparations. - Arzneibuch-Kommentar

DAC/NRF ist a valuable supplement to Deutsches and Europäisches Arzneibuch. It contains about 280 DAC-monographs, testing procedures for the alternative identification of about 950 starting materials for an easier entrance examination and about 240 standardized recipe instructions for the use in pharmacies.
